Rush
Rush is how you join Kappa Theta Pi. It runs once a year, over about two weeks at the start of the fall semester, and it is open to any UGA student interested in technology.

There is nothing to sign up for between seasons. Dates, times, and locations for the next round go up on this page and on our Instagram as soon as they are set.
Who can rush
You must have at least three semesters remaining at UGA, including the semester you rush in. Any major, any experience level.
How rush works
Four steps, from making an account to hearing back. None of it costs anything.

Make an Account with Us
When rush opens, a signup link goes up here and a QR code is on the slides at every info session. Creating an account takes about a minute. Build your profile and look around the portal before the first event. Have a read through what's posted and see what's coming up.

Come to Events and Talk to Members
We want to get to know you, and showing up is the biggest thing that helps your chances of getting a bid. Every rush event is on your calendar in the portal with the time and place.

Sign Up for Interviews
Towards the end of rush, we hold short interviews. When signup opens, an Interviews tab shows up in your portal. Pick whichever day and time works for you and that slot is yours.

Check Back for an Update
Once interviews wrap up, leadership reviews everyone who took part. Check back in on your portal to see where you stand. If you're offered a bid, you'll get a message from us, plus a notification on your phone, so you don't have to keep refreshing. You'll hear either way.

Info Sessions and Socials
Info sessions cover what KTP is, what membership involves, and who we are. Several are held, and attending one is the only hard requirement of rush. Socials run alongside them through the two weeks and change from year to year. They are where you actually get to know members, and showing up is the single biggest thing that helps your chances.
Speed Dating
A fast round of short conversations with a lot of members in one evening. If you only make it to two things, make this one of them.
Interviews
A short, relaxed interview with members towards the end of rush. An Interviews tab appears in your portal when signups open and you choose whichever day and time suits you.
Decisions
Leadership reviews everyone who took part. You will hear either way, as a message and a notification on your phone, so there is nothing to keep refreshing.
